Outfits: Under the Umbrella Tree

Happy Friday all!

Well, it's been one very long week so naturally I'm thrilled that the weekend is FINALLY here.  I took a short break, but now I'm back and today making camp over at Flock Together where I'm remixing Elana's umbrella dress once again.  Fly this way to read more...

Catch you on the flip side!

Outfits: Marilyn Moment

Outfit Details:
Dress: Dear Creatures swap Via Amy, The Amy Loo blog
Hat, bag: Vintage, Thrifted
Tights: Modcloth
Jacket, Shoes: Target

Well the wind was certainly angry today my friends...  Anyhow, I remixed this pretty little Dear Creatures dress from Amy one last time before sending it back...b/c come on, it's loverly, isn't it?  Anyhow, this time around the weather was very cool and crisp and I simply had no other option than to layer it up and throw on my trusty ol beret to keep my ears from getting frozen.  Trust me, it was that cold and windy, so much that this dress was nearly blown up to my chinny chin chin.  Eeks, quite the Marilyn moment - but probably much less graceful and way more awkward...ha!

Oh well, nothing more to say than just that.  It's been another super busy month for me but I'm looking forward to slowing down for a second and seeing Ingrid Michaelson again in concert next week in Philly.  Yeah, can't wait!  It's time to put on the pause button for sure.

So here's to a summer of slowing down just a bit and really taking some time to do the things you want to do.

Outfit Details:
Skirt: Swapped via Lisa, Lala Faux Bois
Top: Modcloth, sale
Scarf, Brooch, Bag, Shoes: Vintage, thrifted

Hi All, and Happy Hump Day,

Well it officially feels and is starting to look like spring where I live and my legs couldn't be more excited to peel off the tights and call it a grand ol day.  Typical of spring, I've been as busy as ever.  In the week ahead I'm getting another drama team ready for a Fine Arts Festival...this time with young kids though, not teens as I normally coach, I'm crafting to my heart's content with little projects around the house - because I've got the DIY itch, and fingers crossed, but I hope to start my garden very very soon...oh and I've been entertaining family and friends at the homestead left and right, so yeah...busy as a bumblebee for sure and feeling quite accomplished in the process.

Anyhoo, the loverly Lisa of Lala Faux Bois, sent this whimsy little skirt my way for a wee bit and I thought it to be the most perfect piece to bust out the bare legged season in.  Whoo hoo.  Warm weather puts me in the best of moods because I know that means long walks outside, lazy lakeside afternoons, and adventuring to places previously unseen and that's just the short list.   Speaking of places unseen, check out this enchanting little bridge we sighted that apparently leads to Happily Ever After.  Um, yeah...I'm going in :-).

So with that, I'm off.   Wishing you a happily ever after kind of day darlings!

Happy Friday Darlings,

I swear anytime I travel...(which in these photos I happened to be spending a weekend at a youth fine arts festival in which my drama team students was competing at)...I pack this dress.  It's vintage, it's super comfy (much like a sweatshirt), and it doesn't wrinkle.  In other words, it's perfect.  You know, one of those pieces you wear at least once (or twice) a week.

I'm in the habit of remixing my wardrobe quite often since I am a stay at home mom and I just don't have the budget to buy new clothing every month...because frankly, I'd rather be saving up money for other things like vacation and home improvements.  Not exciting, but practical, right?  Anyhow, this dress has made it's appearance time and time again and I make no apologies for that.  I'm a fan of how unfussy it is.  It's amazing how much less fussy I am now that there is a second kiddo in the mix of things.  Heck, I wear a hat every day...I have no time...it's amazing my face looks half decent when I leave the house.  No complaints though - I wouldn't trade this time in life for anything.  It's a little wild (in a mom sort of way), but it's wonderful.

Here's wishing you a wild and wonderful weekend my friends!

Outfit Details:
Dress: Retrolicious, Swap from Elana
Hat: UO
Top: Modcloth (sale)
Belt: Thrifted
Tights: Target
Shoes: Poetic License

Rain rain go away.  Boy this dress surely would have been an apropos thing to wear this week - the rain simply has not stopped.  Did I send Mother Nature some sort of signal to usher in the rain because I swear I happened to wear this dress on the last sunny day we've seen in a while.  Surely I'm not that superstitious, or am I?

Anyhow, the lovely Elana from Room 334 sent this beaut over my way and don't you know how much of a sucker I am for quirky prints.  Aren't we all?  Anyhow, a perfect afternoon it was to grab some coffee and do a little outlet shopping on our way home from Easter break at my parent's house.  Days and dresses simply do not get any sweeter than this.

Wishing you a little sunshine darlings,
