The Eighth Year

Outfit Details: Dress: Vintage (remixed here) // Hat: UO // Vest: TJ Maxx // Necklace: Vintage from mom // Shoes: Seychelles

Life is pretty simple on most days for the wee fam and I.  So after this balmy, white-skyed evening spent at the craft store finding the supplies I need to polish of the four DIYs I have going on at the moment - we took a stop at a local park so Keane could run around to his little heart's content.  He loves to run and run and run - which means, we chase, we chase, we chase.  My shoes were not the most sensible for doing this - so this resulted in some very ungraceful looking leaps, skips, and hops to keep pace.  Nonetheless, it was perfectly fun and as you can see we had a not so happy camper on our hands once it was time to leave.

Gotta run darlings - it's my 8th year wedding anniversary today so I will be happily celebrating with the Mr.

Thanks for the best 8 years of my life darling.   Here's to many many many more.  You simply make me feel like the luckiest gal in the world.

Amusement II

Outfit Details: Dress: Francesca's Collections (sale)// Scarf: From Grandmother // Cardi: UO (remixed here) // Shoes: UO

Several weeks back the Mr. and I headed off the beaten path just a bit to peruse a local pop up flea market.  Unfortunately we got there a tad too late and all the vendors had torn down however the grounds were still open, so this defunct amusement park where the flea market is held, was all ours to explore.

Talk about eerie.  It was not hard to see this once lively little amusement park was just a skeleton of it's former self.  Decrepit spider web laced buildings, a carousel pavilion without a carousel inside of it, and a single wooden coaster left to stand in all it's overgrown tree engulfed glory.

So there you have it - I may not have found any flea market treasures, but I sure found an old and rusty, and still quite charming little gem.

Have a beautiful Saturday darlings!

Friday Favorites // July Edition

Hello Darlings,

It's hard to believe July is almost over as I feel like summer has just started.  Where may I ask has the time run off to?  Anyhow, at the close of each month I  (along with some of my sponsors) want to do a short little post on some of the current things we are hearting - yes, I know that is not a word, but it should be, right?

My picks:

How could I possibly resist this little beauty?  The floral print is tugging at my heartstrings.

1960s Vintage Playsuit

If only this darling little number were my size.  I would have surely snagged it up by now.

Tiare Coconut Oil

Summer is not summer without slathering this delightful smelling coconut oil all over me.  It's 100% natural and scented with gardenia flower...not to mention it's a way better moisturizer than any artificial smelling lotion out there.

Lisa's Pick:

Since we are smack dab in the middle of summer, right now I'm loving vintage inspired bathing suits. I love mine from Frankie Four- they are made to your measurements, out of vintage fabric!

Hattie's Pick:

Hey Bloggettes! I'm Hattie from Curly is Contagious. I'm a music fanatic and what has really tickled my fancy this past month is Justin Townes Earle...Have you heard of him?

My manfriend came across his performance on the Letterman show. Townes Earl's voice is so gravelly...dare I say it...behind those thick, red, rimmed glasses....sexy. What is it about musicians that they make a girls heart thump a little harder in her chest?

Watch it below and try not to swoon too much...

Brooke's Pick:

I am currently loving my handmade felt flower ring from Kyrgyzstan. We bought this from a market, that also sells heaps of other popular Kyrgyz felt products, and I haven't been able to leave the house without it.

Happy Friday to you all.  May your weekend be as lovely as ever.

See you real soon!

Skull Creek

Outfit Details: Dress: Vintage // Hat: Target // Purse: Thrifted // Shoes: Amazon.com

Hello there,

Another perfect summer day is on the horizon - and unfortunately I'm in a bit of a funk.  Argh, luckily, that is nothing a little trip to the craft store can't cure...ha!  Anyhow, towards the end of my week in Hilton Head, the famiglia and I headed over the reception site for my sister's wedding.  This little marina on Skull Creek, is pretty much so the view from the back porch that we will be celebrating on.  Skull Creek is one of the single places on the island where you can catch the sunset - so I can only imagine right now what a magical night it will be.

I felt as if I were a Southern Belle in my oversized hat and floral dress - which is not really my typical style, but it seemed fitting giving that we were down in the charming South.

Gotta run for now.  Catch up with you darlings real soon:)

Outfit Details: Top (Romper) & Hat: UO // Skirt: Vintage // Necklace: Antique Mall // Bag & Shoes: Thrifted

A week in Hilton Head just isn't complete without catching a spot of pastry from Signe's Bakery.  Today I feasted on marzipan and cheese pastry, but I also had my eyes on these lavender biscotti's - mmm, perhaps next time.  Anyhow, today's pop in is going to be a quick one, because I must gobble up every last minute here on "the island" before we head back home tomorrow.  I wish you all the sweetest sunshine-filled weekend possible!

Shelter Cove

Outfit Details: Dress: Vintage - Antiqued // Scarf & Shoes: Thrifted

Hello Darlings,

Well it's just about mid-week and my vacation is in full force.  I've been doing not much more than soaking up sunshine and gulping up moments by the water.  Who here could happily live on vacation all year long? - I swear I most certainly feel like I could at times,  but I suppose it might get a bit monotonous after awhile.  Anyhow, after a oyster po boy and crawfish bisque dinner in the evening - it was so lovely to take a wee stroll through the charming little Shelter Cove with my mom - which is a sweet handful of shops and restaurants and such on the water.  I'm kind of a sucker for Dawson's Creek-esque looking seaside towns like that.    Enough said:)

How about your week?  Any vacations in the near future?  Do share.

Water Slides

Outfit Details: Dress: Vintage in my shop // Scarf & Shoes: Thrifted // Necklace: UO (old)

Untitled

So I guess it's now safe to say I am happily nestled in Hilton Head and on the hunt for the perfect house to hold my little sis's beach wedding at.  This however is not Hilton Head.  During the past couple of weeks, the hubs and I had several days free to ourselves, sooooo....we decided to take an afternoon and spend it amongst some local falls - or Mother Nature's water slides as I'd like to call them.  If anything it was such a peaceful little nook to just walk and talk and take it slow - real slow.  So with that thought, my connection here on "the island" is pretty slow itself, so please pardon if it takes me a little while to catch up with you all before too long.   Hmm, I'm thinking right now the beach awaits.  Here's to one slow & peaceful Sunday!
